§ 10-77. Burn ban.
(a)
When dry weather conditions are such that the Keetch-Byram Drought Index is at five hundred (500) or higher, and the herbaceous stage within the county is declared at stage one cured, there is to be no open debris burning within Osceola County, except for burning done by, or under the direct supervision of, authorized county or municipal personnel or with the authorization of the State of Florida, Division of Forestry.
(b)
This ban shall be extended in seven (7) day increments for as long as the Keetch-Byram Drought Index is at five hundred (500) or higher and the herbaceous stage is above stage one cured.
(c)
The ban shall lapse after the drought index has fallen below five hundred (500) for at least seven (7) consecutive days and the herbaceous stage is above stage one cured.
