§ 14-92. Notice and abatement.

  • In the event graffiti is determined to exist on any real property, in violation of this article, the code enforcement officer shall cause a sign to be placed upon the offending real property in a conspicuous and easily visible location. In addition, a notice of violation shall be sent to the owner, agent, custodian, lessee, occupant, or the like, directing same to abate the violation within seven (7) calendar days after the notice of violation was mailed or the property was posted, whichever is earlier. The notice of violation shall include a sufficient description of the violation to be abated, clearly state that if the violation is not abated, the code enforcement officer will cause the violation to be abated and record a lien against the real property, in the public records of Osceola County, Florida, for the actual cost associated with abatement of the violation. The notice shall further state that the alleged violator may appeal the code enforcement officer's determination.
