§ 5-122. Application for permit, submission of plans and specifications; issuance of permits.

Latest version.
  • (a)

Before any electrical wiring or electrical apparatus or equipment for light, heat or power shall be installed within or attached to any building or structure, either public or private, within the county, a written application for a permit to do so must be made to the county administrator. On all commercial buildings the application shall be accompanied by an adequate set of plans, specifications and schedule, as may be necessary for the county administrator to determine whether the installation as described will be in conformity with the requirements of this article. For residential buildings limited to single or duplex buildings, but not including apartment houses, it shall not be necessary that the application for permit be accompanied by an adequate set of plans, specifications and schedule, except in the discretion of the county administrator, should he determine it necessary. On rewiring the county administrator may waive regulations for plans and specifications.

    (b)

If it shall be found by the county administrator that the installation as described will in general conform with the requirements of this article and if the applicant has complied with all the provisions of this article, a permit for such installation shall be issued by the county administrator.
