§ 5-212. County registration of contractors required.

  • No person contracting for the performance of service work under this article shall be issued a setup permit until evidence is submitted that the following provisions have been met and annual registration is accomplished on a form prescribed by the department, accompanied by a registration fee in the amount established by resolution. Persons contracting for performance of service work under this article are required to:

    (1)

    Post with the clerk of the board of county commissioners, on a form approved by the board, a bond in a sum of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) conditioned upon compliance with the provisions of the law and all rules, regulations and codes adopted by the board.

    (2)

    Furnish proof that public liability insurance is maintained with a surety company authorized to do business in the state.

    (3)

    Furnish proof that the requirements of the worker's compensation law in the state have been met.

    (4)

    Furnish evidence of statutory compliance if a fictitious name is used.

    (5)

    Furnish evidence of having obtained a current occupational license to engage in such business.
