§ 5-214. Setup standards.

  • (a)

    Seal of approval. All mobile homes, which are required by F.S. § 320.831, or other general laws of the state, to bear the seal of approval and certification described therein, must bear such seal and certification in order to be installed in this county.

    (b)

    Tie-down and blocking. Tie-down and blocking must meet the minimum requirements of F.S. § 320.8325, or other applicable general laws of the state and rules and regulations promulgated pursuant thereto.

    (c)

    Additions. The construction of additions to mobile homes shall be in accordance with the county building code.

    (d)

    Mechanical work. Mechanical work shall be performed in accordance with the county mechanical code.

    (e)

    Service work. The placement or replacement, including utility connections (excluding electrical), skirting and tiedown, of mobile homes in mobile home parks having a current annual operation permit on lots having existing connections for potable water and wastewater approved by the building and zoning codes department shall be considered service work, and may be performed by state-licensed and bonded mobile home dealers or contractors registered under this article after obtaining the required mobile home setup permit from the building and zoning codes department.

    (1)

    Plumbing connections or piping other than the basic connection from the lawfully installed potable water supply connections to the mobile home and the connection from the lawfully installed sewer riser or septic tank to the mobile home are outside the scope of service work and shall be performed either by a person who is both owner and occupant of that mobile home or by a licensed plumbing contractor properly registered with the building and zoning codes department. All work shall be done in accordance with the county plumbing code, and no work shall be done until a permit is obtained.

    (2)

    Electrical work shall be performed either by a person who is both owner and occupant of that mobile home, or by a licensed electric contractor properly registered with the building and zoning codes department. All work shall be done in accordance with the county electrical code, and no work shall be done until a permit is obtained.
