§ 8-1. Automobile liability insurance for sheriff.

(a)

The county sheriff shall provide and carry automobile liability insurance in limits not less than two hundred fifty thousand dollars/five hundred thousand dollars ($250,000.00/$500,000.00) bodily injury and one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) property damage liability.

(b)

The cost of such insurance coverage shall be paid by the sheriff, and shall be included in and form a part of the annual budget of the sheriff.
