§ 8-14. Surcharge for non-criminal traffic infractions.

(a)

Surcharge. Pursuant to F.S. (2004) § 318.18(13)(a)1, the board hereby authorizes a surcharge of thirty dollars ($30.00), to be imposed, in addition to any penalties imposed by the court, for any noncriminal traffic infractions pursuant to F.S. ch. 318, or for criminal violations listed in F.S. § 318.17. The court shall not waive this surcharge.

(b)

Use of funds. The funds collected pursuant to this section shall be used to fund state court facilities as allowed by law.

(c)

Unspent funds. Any unspent funds at the close of the county fiscal year may be carried forward to the next fiscal year.

(d)

Collection by clerk of circuit court. The clerk of circuit court is authorized to collect the costs on behalf of the board.
