§ 9-137. Access to lots.

  • (a)

    It is unlawful and prohibited for any person to prevent the access to a lot by any agent, employee, officer or independent contractor of the county in the performance of the inspection, enforcement and abatement proceedings authorized by this article. The county may cause to be commenced an appropriate judicial action for declaratory and injunctive relief against any person who prevents, interferes with, impedes or threatens any such employee, officer, agent or independent contractor of the county endeavoring to perform the inspection, enforcement and abatement proceedings authorized by this article. In any such action in which the county prevails, the court shall tax costs and reasonable attorney's fees against the defendant.

    (b)

    Additionally and alternatively, the provisions of this section may be enforced through the code enforcement process of Chapter 7 of this Code.
