§ 16-54. Personal watercraft.

  • A livery or other commercial operation shall not lease, hire or rent to any person who is under sixteen (16) years of age, and it shall be their duty to request verification of age prior to leasing, renting, or hiring a personal watercraft to any person who may, by appearance to a reasonably prudent person, be underage. Such verification may include confirmation by a parent or legal guardian, presentation of a passport, presentation of a driver's license or learner's permit. It shall be a complete defense if the parent or legal guardian falsifies the age or the customer presents falsified identification.
