Article VI. VEHICLES FOR HIRE |
§ 13-145. Condition of vehicle.
Every vehicle operating under this article shall be kept in a clean and sanitary condition at all times when such vehicle is offered for hire. Each vehicle shall be maintained in proper mechanical working order and vehicle body damage shall be repaired before the vehicle is returned to the streets for normal operation. Each vehicle permitted shall be inspected at the time of initial application per section 13-138(a)(6) and annually each year thereafter as a continuing condition of the permit. Each annual vehicle inspection subsequent to the initial application inspection shall require a fifty dollar ($50.00) fee to be paid at or before the time of inspection. Such inspections shall take place in a location designated by the county administrator at a mutually arranged time and date. In addition, any law enforcement officer or code enforcement officer may conduct "spot inspections" if there is reason to believe a permitted vehicle is in violation of the standards of this section. Each permittee and holder of a driver's certificate shall allow such "spot inspection" as a continuing condition of their permit and/or certificate. The county administrator shall accept the vehicle inspection approval issued by the City of Orlando upon payment of the fifty dollar ($50.00) fee to the county.
